Pierpont Inn is a historic boutique hotel located on the coast of Ventura, known for its timeless charm and beautiful ocean views. The client reached out for a full website redesign of their 19-page site, which was feeling visually outdated and didn’t reflect the elegance of the property.
While the sitemap itself was solid and didn’t require major structural changes, the presentation of their rooms and suites was clunky and made it hard for users to find the right accommodations. Our task was to give the site a fresh, clean look—without losing the character of the hotel—and to improve the booking experience from start to finish.
The main challenge was modernizing the look and feel of the site while keeping the existing branding intact. The previous design leaned heavily on dated textures and colors, which distracted from the content and made the site feel less trustworthy. On the functionality side, navigating the different room types was confusing, and the booking process didn’t allow for much user control or filtering—especially frustrating for guests with specific preferences or accessibility needs.
We started with a visual overhaul, keeping the core brand colors but stripping away rustic textures and cluttered elements in favor of a more refined, elegant aesthetic. We introduced a booking bar that allows users to select their date range and number of guests right from the homepage, streamlining the path to booking. On the Rooms & Suites page, we added a filtering system so users can sort by room type, bed size, amenities, and accessibility features, making the process of choosing a room feel intuitive and personalized. The result is a site that reflects the beauty and sophistication of Pierpont Inn, while offering a far smoother user experience for guests.
